Nepali people speak about their expectations of the new constitution
With a new constitution underway, a documentary about people's expectations and views on the constitution-building process in Nepal has been produced by Interface for International IDEA.
Since the Jana Andholan II protests that led to the political changes in Nepal, there has been continuous debate about the old Nepali constitution and the new one soon to be drafted.
People's Constitution is a record in film of these various debates. It aims to stimulate citizen action and, by recording various statements and commitments, is a means of ensuring that public figures are held accountable for their promises that the forthcoming constitution-making process will be inclusive and participatory.
